Neuralgia: It is possible that you have something known as trigeminal neuralgia that can cause severe pain on one side of the face. If there's any skin changes it could be an infection as well. Best that you get seen and evaluated for this condition. Good luck.

Facial pain: there are many causes for facial pain for example if you have pain when you open or close your mouth and there is an area of tenderness over the TMJ which is right in the front of your year then you have a TMJ dysfunction. Other causes are trigeminal neuralgia, so depending on the cause you need to see the appropriate specialist: ENT or neurology
