A member asked:

Hi doc, i just want to ask if it is safe to use as a treatment (salicylic acid) in treating ringworm on the top of nipple, im in breastfeeding my baby?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Salicyclic acid/baby: The trouble with salycylic acid on a breast with tinea infection is that the aspirin essentially can be ingested by the baby (though small quantities) and this could cause a bit of prolongation in baby's bleeding time....probably not really an issue unless the baby has some type of abnormality in bleeding or clotting mechanisms...check with OB/GYN on wisdome of this methodology.
