very prominent neck vein on left side almost bulging starting right above collarbone, doctor says its normal but what could cause this ? male 21 150lb

Anomaly: or a less common anatomic variance may explain this. Concern is raised if this is new or worsening or if other associated signs and symptoms are present. It can be an initial manifestation of SVC syndrome which had multiple causes, generally caused by mass effect on the major blood vessels.
