See a hematologist: A blood specialist is best suited to guide you further as the most likely cause is ITP. There are several options for treating this condition . You can remain on steroids as long as your platelet counts remain above 20, 000 provided your steroid dose is not too high,causing you side effects of steroid excess. Alternative treatments are available.
