Dose = duration: If the dose of Concerta is appropriate, the duration of action should be between 10 and 12 hours. If the efect is not lasting at least 10 hours, the dose may be increased. If you need the effect to last longer, consider a small dose of methylphenidate about an hour before the morning dose of Concertal loses its effect. An alternative is Vyvanse, (lisdexamfetamine) whose effect may lat 12-15 hours.
