The maximum FDA-: Approved dose of brand-name Concerta is 72 mg/day, usually given as a single am dose, as it starts to work in ~ 1 hr. & lasts ~12 hrs. Some adult psychiatrists give 90-108 mg. To adults with refractory adhd. Generic Concerta does not have the oros delivery system that causes branded Concerta to peak ~ 6 hrs. "generics" can be 75% -125% as strong as branded, depending on which company makes it.

Not necessarily: 1) this is higher than the pdr lists the drug. The maximum dosage is 72mg/d. 2) however, the "biederman max" that is used in pediatric psychopharmacology works out to about 1 mg of Ritalin (methylphenidate) (or concerta) per lb. Of kid per day. If you're a 160 lb adult, that = 160 mg of concerta. You're not even close to that. 3) different people metabolize this drug differently; you may truly need this much.
