A member asked:

What is an alternative treatment for diabetic persons who can't handle injection insulin?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: People with type 1 diabetes do not make enough insulin. They must be on Insulin to treat their diabetes, there is no substitute. People with type 2 diabetes still make insulin, but the Insulin does not work correctly. There are many pills that either help the Insulin made by the pancreas to work better, or encourage the pancreas to make more insulin.
