Diabetes: Yes. Diabetics should see their doctor frequently and should be taught how to eat in a healthy manner. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, without smoking, controlling weight, controlling alcohol intake and getting adequate exercise is very important.

Yes: Having good glucose control under Insulin therapy means you are taking care of your diet as Insulin alone will not achieve good glucose reading. You do need to count your carbs and stay within 60-75 gram per meal in addition to daily walks and increased water and fiber intake.
