Get it checked again: Sometimes yellow material comes out and it may not be pus... is your toe painful, red and increased in size? Yet still you need to get it checked.. Good luck..

Make sure it : Is pus and not any antibiotic cream you may be using. If it is pus go back to whomever removed it, there may be a nail spicule left there.

Infection: I think conservative management with washing with warm water and soap usually is sufficient,but if the toe turns red or tender would re-visit your PCP.
