It depends: on various factors such as how well you rest, history of asthma or smoking, age, vaccinations, etc. But on average, you should be back to normal on 5-10 days

2-3 days: Providing you are responding nicely to treatment. Depending on the causative agent the antibiotic may or may not work. There are now clear cut criteria for admission in the hospital for patients with pneumonia. Some pneumonia like diseases are viral and antibiotics will not make a difference, but time. Finally some have a non infectious cause and become chronic.
