See a dentist ASAP: A tooth pain or tooth decay won't go away without treatment and the infection may spread to your jaw, cheeks, sinus and to other areas of your head and neck. See your dentist ASAP.

A few thoughts...: Any dark discoloration should be investigated by a local dentist. Could be decay, could be calculus, could even just be staining. Either way have it examined and treated.

Chicago: If you live in Chicago there's probably a Dentist on every corner that can help you. "Black" can be either Class V (gum line) cavities or accretions of tarter on your teeth that are causing gum damage. Please see a Dentist who can properly diagnose and treat your problem. Remember, time is not your friend...the longer you delay treatment the more complex (expensive) treatment becomes.
