i'm 28 weeks pregnant. is it normal to have a dramatic change in bowel movements? i was having 1 every 2-3 days. this week it's 2-3 everyday.

Ask OBGYN: I'd say that it makes sense. Especially if they are of normal consistency, color and not associated w/ pain or other discomfort I'd not worry. But do ask your OBGYN at your next exam. Don't forget, there's a lot less room inside there now for storage.Congrats!

Still normal range: The average American's bowel frequency is 1 every 3-4 days ranging to 3 per day. Pregnancy has many physiologic effects, including some involving the gut. However, if any doubt, a call to your doctor is in order since he knows what medicines you're taking & what underlying medical conditions you have, that may be contributory here.
