Pregnancy "7 wks": At seven weeks of pregnancy, the ovary stops producing progesterone in large amounts, and the placenta "takes over" the production of progesterone. The temporary drop in progesterone may cause slight bleeding (brown discharge), but this will stop soon as progesterone production increases from the placenta. See your ob/gyn for supplemental progesterone in this interval, which will assist.
