Right heart failure: Pulmonary hypertension is a rare disorder in which the arteries that carry blood from the heart to the lungs become narrowed, causing blood pressure to increase in these vessels. The heart must work harder to pump blood against this increased pressure. The strain placed on the right ventricle of heart gradually results in enlargement of the chamber and weakening of the heart muscle.
