It depends on...: We can get adequate vit. D from the sun, but this depends on where you live, the season, how much time you spend in the sun, how dark your skin is etc. In Columbia you can get D from the sun all year if you don't use sunscreen but taking. A good dose for most people is 5000-8000 units/day of D3. It may help to test your levels. Optimal levels are 50-80 ng/ml. See my comment for more info.
