High and low: blood sugar can cause this. Face and arm numbness (even temporary) are of concern and i'd suggest you see your physician for complete evaluation of this episode or episodes.

Do you have diabetes: You don't mention if you have diabetes or not. If you do, there may be a problem with your medication causing blood sugar swings. See your doctor to check for this and to discuss how diet & activity might contribute to this. If you don't have diabetes, see you doctor to get checked, because you might have diabetes, but not know about it. Here, too, diet may play a role in swings in blood sugars.
