See a gynecologist.: place a tampon in your vagina and see if the brown staining still persists. If it does, it is most likely fecal. Check the tampon later and if it is Brown, then you know that it is vaginal. if you are having postmenopausal bleeding then you should definitely see a gynecologist because this could be another polyp, a fibroid, or even cancer.
