A member asked:

3 yrs ago had uterine polyp removed due to bleeding after menopause, not cancer! now getting very tiny yellowish brown stains, not daily but several times per week for 2 months, could this be another polyp? what will gyno do to test? cancer risk now?

Yellowish brown discharge may be due to minor bleeding. Your gynecologist may do a dilatation and curettage due to your prior history of polyp. The curettings should be sent to a pathologist for examination. Wish you good health!

Yes, your GYN MD will want to re-evaluate the old blood stains present(yellowish brown) for a recurrent polyp or endometrial overgrowth(hyperplasia). Polyps can and do return and it is necessary that you follow up with your GYN MD soon.
