Tooth infection: Yes, even in the presence of pain and inflammation, most times having a bad tooth pulled will quickly resolve these issues by getting rid of the source of the infection which is the rotten tooth. On occasion in te presence of a bad infection where anesthesia might now be effective for doing an extraction either an incision or drainage of the infection can be done prior to extraction

Tooth extraction: If that was the plan after you finished your Antibiotic, yes, as directed by your dentist.

Save your teeth: Discuss all treatment with your dentist prior to any extractions. At age 18, if possible, I would avoid any extractions, other than wisdom teeth. If the tooth is viable and can be saved with root canal therapy, this is long term more prudent.

Ask your dentist: Your treating dentist will determine when your tooth can be extracted.

See any dentist ASAP: If you rely on antibiotics or other not a definitive treatment, the pain and tooth infection always will come back. Dentist will treat a tooth infection by treating the cause and getting rid of the infection. Do not delay. See any dentist ASAP. Good luck.
