TMD: For most patients splint therapy along with reviewing habits that could be leading to this. Splint therapy a night guard. Some patients may need NSAIDS and a soft diet along with muscle relaxants. People with severe issues could require surgery but surgery typically has a poor outcome

Why is it that TMJ on left side of jaw always rubs against cheek tissue and left side does not when i open mouth? This is after assault on chin. No fractures but TMJ feels cracked. Maxillofacial doctor sends me home and PT and night guard is done?
