No painless surgery: No surgery is without pain. But laparoscopic cholecystectomy is done through small holes, biggest one is usually 10mm or about 1/3 inch. You are under general anesthesia, go home same day or next day, and oral pain meds is all you need. Nothing like the old style open surgery. So, yes, it does hurt, but not much. Go for it.
