Suggests infection: If the liquid you have coming out of the belly button has a bad smell there is probably some infection present. You can clean the area well with soap and water followed by alcohol to the area. Keep the area dry and clean in this manner for 2-3 days. If the problem persists, see a physician and get the fluid cultured and treated with the proper medication that may be needed.
