Possible: It can be anywhere from mechanical irritation to an infection, bacterial or fungal. Have your doc take a look at the area, maybe have the fluid cultured if infection is of concern. In the interim removing the piercing, if possible, keeping the area dry and covered and otherwise normal hygiene, only water and soap should suffice.
