Check eye: Sounds more like issues with vitreous or retinal changes, such as floaters or detachments, and the colored shapes and bright dots could also be secondary to post-traumatic complex migraine events. Could use a prophylactic anti-migraine drug, and see if events depart.

Mom has petit & grand mal seizures from TBI (car accident in 89). Dilantin, Depakote & Tegretol worked but w/severe side effects. Neurontin worked best. Recently she was dx w/PNES. Is it possible this was a misdiagnosis? Or was 1st dx wrong?
