A member asked:

I have a cut on my finger it didnt burn when cleaned with alcohol so do you think it penetrated the skin to bleed it doesn't hurt at all risk for hiv?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If you have HIV...: If you have HIV in your body, and you have a superficial cut that doesn't have any bleeding, nor any stinging sensation when cleaned with alcohol, that cut is very very unlikely to transmit your HIV to another person (but keeping a Bandaid on it a couple of days is fine to do, so you'll worry less). If you don't have HIV, where is the fresh HIV virus located, that might be a risk factor?
