Not a bite?: More often than not, a solitary ulcerative lesion such as this is due to subcutaneous bacterial infection, usually with bacteria that normally reside on the skin. Entry is gained by minor wound resulting in skin breakdown (a scratch most commonly). It may heal alone, but antibiotic may be warranted. Consider having it evaluated.
