You should be tested: Taking clindamycin can definitely result in C. diff, which can cause severe illness if left untreated. Consider consulting your doctor again and specifically request a test for C.diff. If the doctor refuses, consider going to another doctor or perhaps even an urgent care.

Diarrhea: Antibiotic induced diarrhea is a common side effect and is normally treated supportively with fluids and probiotics. I agree that 12 days of severe diarrhea and weight loss needs more investigation - testing for clostridium difficile may be reasonable.
