Diarrhea for 19 days because of clindamycim. stopped clindamycim 12 days ago. my doc says take pepto dismal and probiotics. he doesn't want to test for c.diff. lost over 10 pounds. what to do?

You should be tested: Taking clindamycin can definitely result in C. diff, which can cause severe illness if left untreated. Consider consulting your doctor again and specifically request a test for C.diff. If the doctor refuses, consider going to another doctor or perhaps even an urgent care.

Diarrhea: Antibiotic induced diarrhea is a common side effect and is normally treated supportively with fluids and probiotics. I agree that 12 days of severe diarrhea and weight loss needs more investigation - testing for clostridium difficile may be reasonable.
