Rib pain: while your symptoms sound atypical for unstable angina (pain from your heart) women can often present with a heart issue and atypical symptoms..if your symptoms are new or intense like you describe you should seek emergency evaluation

ER a good idea: Chest pain beneath the ribs in a woman who is fifty years old can be worrisome and can be a sign of a heart attack or something that could become a heart attack. It would be a good idea to seek urgent care as soon as you can. If you are short of breath, call an ambulance.
