Don't floss ur gums: Floss your teeth. If you are damaging your gums during flossing, you are doing it incorrectly. Speak to your dentist.

Avoid injury: Injury to your gum during flossing indicating that the flossing technique is wrong. Stillman cleft is a phenomena where flossing causes cutting of interproximal tissue with a floss and cause injury. Floss should be held tight, after passing thru the contact should be pushed against the side of a tooth while while traversing down the gum. The procedure repeat as floss push against the other side.
