Head and neck cancer: It is extremely improbable and rare for throat cancer to develop in such a young person with so little smoking history. It is likely your symptoms have another etiology - a common causes being viral inflammation.

See ENT: If you have any concerns, see your ENT for a through evaluation. At age 20, it is time to build a lifetime of positive habits, curtail and quit smoking.

See PCP or ENT: for consultation and cancer screening tests. The chance of getting throat cancer is low at younger ages. However, people who smoke, especially those who drink alcohol, are at the most at risk for developing throat cancer. See PCP or ENT.
