Probably not, but...: Most sore throats are not cancer, but related to benign causes such as infections or allergies. However, if the cause is not obvious, persistent throat pain lasting for weeks should certainly be evaluated by your physician.

Unlikely: If you have repeated sore throats, you should do one or two things one is to have an ENT doctor look inside your throat and secondly get a check on your blood counts(CBC). Getting to the doctor is more import and should be the first step.
