Likely normal: The inflammatory/immune response to infection involves a high level of recruitment of white cells to infected sites and to immune organs including lymph nodes. Fever resolution is a sign of cleared infection, but the immune system takes a bit more time to cycle down. Keep the pediatrician informed, but I am not surprised by your observation.
