Depends upon type...: Tests to detect recurrence of cancer after treatment for that cancer depend upon the specific type of cancer. For some cancers, there may be blood levels that can be followed (such as psa levels for prostate cancer). In other types of cancers, imaging studies such as ct scans may be used to follow patients over time (like lung cancers). It really depends upon the type of cancer being followed.
