What could be causing my rectal bleeding? had sigmoidoscopy done. nothing found, looked healthy. happens infrequent (once a month) was on antibiotics.

Anal fissure: most likely the bleeding is from anal fissure. keep your bowels soft and regular. drink a lot of fluid ,juices like prune juice, eat more fibers, and fruits. and exercise.

Rectal bleeding: It is possible that either something was missed or the bleeding is coming from higher up .. We need more History to help you find out where the blood is coming from . You could have a fissure or a Hemorrhoid that is bleeding . Either see a GI specialist or schedule a Virtual consult & thru Q& A we might be able to help you . You also need some bleeding parameters checked Take care.
