1,300mg?: There are several protocols for desensitization, but I have never heard of any that require dosing as high as 1300mg nor any that require subsequent daily dosing this high. Please first check with the physician. Maximally, I would expect 325mg to be adequate to maintain desensitization. I am surprised stomach pain did not occur sooner, to be frank. Your MD may consider omeprazole as a first step

Find a better Dr: Are you ALLERGIC to aspirin? Sensitive people get asthma, coughing, or hives from it. Gastritis due to prostaglandin inhibition is a function of dose. Taking 4 adult size aspirin daily will cause stomach symptoms in many people. Taking a large dose makes no sense. If you are allergic to it, avoid it. Why diphenhydramine?
