Not unusual: during menstruation the engorged uterus contracts to expel the menstrual blood. This is likely putting pressure on the surgical site. The hormones of the luteal phase of the cycle also slow gut motility- this may also contribute to the discomfort. See your surgeon if this persists or worsens.
