PPI: Alternative OTC drugs in the same family would be Omeprazole or Lansoprazole. Make sure you let your physician know if you decide to transition to OTC drugs. Another important point would be to adjust to a lower dose, if available. Individual side effects are unpredictable and tolerability is tested on a trial basis.
