Magnesium: Keep taking potassium supplements, make sure your magnesium is normal, replete if needed. If becomes chronic, further work-up is needed.

Get checked...: Having low potassium should not be taken lightly since it could be a life threatening problem. This is usually treated with potassium supplementation by mouth if it is mild but you would need intravenous replacement and close monitoring if it is very low. In order to find out you need to see your doctor or go to the emergency department as soon as possible.
