WHY?: And who is going to check your BP and wake you up? Seriously: numbers for Blood pressure and Heart Rate are lower while sleeping but if you did not have HBP at the doctors office forget about checking it while sleeping. And if your doctor found HBP be sure you follow the right diet, exercise, maintain ideal body weight, take your medicines and do NOT obsess about it: it accomplishes NOTHING!!!

Should be normal: There are night monitors to check your blood pressure while you are asleep. There are "dippers" and "non-dippers", meaning that the pressure may be high during the day but normal during the night. It is controversial if sleep pressure monitoring is useful. Discuss with your doc. Most importantly, you want to check your pressure once daily at home.
