A member asked:

Can poor nutrition and moderate alcohol consumption cause high protein in urine and can it be corrected by getting healthy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See doctor: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, it is imperative that you see your doctor to determine the cause of protein in urine, as it can be an early sign of kidney disease. Poor diet and alcohol may not explain the finding.
