Unusual: Fleeting nonitchy red spots may be due to transient dilatation of tiny blood vessels in the back of the hand which would be more blotchy. Hives or insect bites or allergic reactions last longer than an hour and are itchy. Did exposure to a change in temperature or something that came in contact with your hand play a role?
