Wait until followup: You should see your gynecologist who did your cold knife cone for a follow up visit prior to placing tampons just to make sure that there were not any complications that need to be addressed. Although your risk of infection is low, it's better not to place anything in the vagina until you've received confirmation that it's okay based on the procedure.

Yes: These symptoms are not unusual as the cervix is still healing, but tampons should be safe. It is still too early for sex and do NOT douche ever.
