I have pain in my lower trachea just above my chest. what could it be? it feels sore. does chest auscultation and chest x-ray cover trachea as well?

It would: be unusual but not impossible for the trachea to be the source of pain. The thyroid gland, esophagus, lymph nodes, and muscles are also in the mid lower neck. Chest auscultation and chest xray are not great for detecting tracheal abnormalities other than severe compromise or anatomic deviation. See your doc for an evaluation.
