Painful scar: No.Sometes scars do not behave the way we want to.Surgeons do their best by following standard principles of incisions and closures.Their are many reasons for having a painful,tender and pigmented scar.Most common is tension and direction of scars.Most of the scars settle down by one year.Since you are still suffering I will recommend Scar Revision by an experienced Plastic Surgeon.
