Rule out arrhythmia: With any heart disease in which there may have been damage to the heart or ischemia, the starving of heart muscle for blood, irregular heart rhythms may occur. As your dad ages, his risk of one rhythm, atrial fibrillation, increases. Be sure to have him visit his doctor and get a check up as some irregular heart rhythms have complications like stroke, heart failure and very low blood pressure.
