He can: With care and caution bag handlers, use the wheelchair, take meds. Many persons have bad heart disease without knowing it and fly all the time! some heart attacks do occur on planes- usuall to unsuspected individuals just like in a restaurant! or home!

Depends: On severity and complication complications of his disease and medications he is on. Long trips can increase risk of dvt. A good risk assessment necessary by your cardiologist.
