Check cholesterol: Risk for heart disease is commonly inherited. Get blood drawn for measurement of total and LDL and HDL cholesterol and triglyceride, along with measurement of blood pressure and fasting blood glucose. These are all commonly inherited and if treated now, will help prevent heart attack and stroke.
