A member asked:

Hello, does nabumetone eliminate the inflammation after a few days, or does it just masks the pain for a few days?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nabumetone (Relafen): Nabumetone is what we call an NSAID (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug). This means it's in the same category as ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil) and naproxen (Aleve or Anaprox). It DECREASES (usually does not "eliminate") inflammation and it also decreases pain and fever while it is in your system. However, after the drug is eliminated from your system, it's effect is no longer there.
