Entomophthorales: The Entomophthorales are fungi previously classified as Zygomycetes. Most species of Entomophthorales are insect pathogens. A few attack nematodes, mites, and tardigrades, and some (particularly species of the genus Conidiobolus) are free-living saprotrophs. Human infections may occur primarily in patients with immuno-suppressive disorders, and are diagnosed clinically and with fungal cultures.
