Many possibilities: There are several possible reasons for persistent or recurrent UTI, thus different ways to prevent or treat it. Sex sometimes triggers it in women. Antibiotic resistant bacteria are possible. Kidney or bladder stone. Anatomic problems in the urinary tract. Best approach is to consult with an infectious disease or genitourinary medicine specialist, e.g. one of UK's excellent NHS GUM clinics.
